Amigurumi chubby panda free crochet pattern is waiting for you. You can find all kinds of content related to Amigurumi on our website.

Designer İnstagram: @grannyscrochethook

YOU WILL NEED

• Yarn of your choice in off-white and black-ish colors for
crocheting and sewing pieces together (the toy in the 1st photo is made out of
100% coarse wool 250 m/100 g and it’s about 15 cm tall; the one in the 2nd
picture is made of 55% cotton/45% PAC yarn 160 m/50 g and its size is a little
bit more im-pressive; 1,5 mm crochet hook was used for making the both of
them);

• Embroidery floss and/or scraps of yarn in black, white and
pink colors for decorating;

• Crochet hook suitable for the yarn of your choice;

• Toy stuffing;

• A pair of safety eyes (optional);

• Embroidery and tapestry needles, pins, stitch marker.

ABBREVIATIONS

MR — magic ring;

ch — chain;

st — stitch;

sl-st — slip stitch;

sc — single crochet;

HDC — half double crochet;

inc — increase;

dec — decrease;

[…] x n — repeat n times;

(…) — number of stitches in the round.

All the pieces are worked in a spiral. It’s quite traditional to leave a long yarn tail for sewing at the end of making every part of the toy. But yours truly is not good at sewing at all, and therefore prefers to divide the yarn into strands and use them along with a thin sewing needle, so the stitches look more neat. Please do what’s more comfortable for you.

HEAD (in off-white)

1.6 sc in a MR (6)

2. inc x 6 (12)

30. (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

31.18 sc (18)

Stuff the head very firmly; it should have a nice onion
shape, with no knobbly bits. If you want it to look more traditional, just skip

Fasten off leaving a tail about 15 cm long and cut the yarn.
Using a tapestry needle, weave the yarn tail through the front loop of each
stitch and pull tight to close. Weave in the end.
